Exam Week

Wow!  Yesterday was extrememly productive.  I studied Spanish phonetics for about 8 hours in the library.  I usually can't hold my attention studying for more than 15 minutes but I was in the zone yesterday.  The thing was, I didn't feel prepared at all b/c he said to memorize and be able to ID a couple lists of problems/solutions, each with 15 or 20 items.  But we ended up only needing to know about three, so that was good.  That said, I kicked that exam's ass.  Take that phonetics!

Next up:  A quick 1.5-page paper, then a little packing.

Tomorrow: studying for philosophy exam, then half-price sushi late

Wed: philosophy exam early, then moving out

Thurs: begin working weekdays back at SECU as a teller bright and early @ 8:30 a.m., w00t.

Did I mention I f'n love Rent?!

Wow.  Rent was amazing.  I'd never seen the musical before, but it was absolutely beautiful in every way.  Beautiful music, beautifully filmed and lit, beautiful story.  It's not often a movie makes me tear up, but this did it.  Add this to my list of favs.

Time to go have thanksgiving dinner with some family of a different kind.  Then hopefully I'll visit the real family later.

Wassup from G-Dub

I'm currently in Washington DC at the George Washington University Inn.  Tomorrow morning my mom and I will walk a few blocks to the Spanish Embassy to submit my application for my visa to study in Spain.

Last week was great with only one major assignment due.  It was only one, yet I was working on it every night.  Oddly enough, I'm reminisent about it already.  The assignment was to act out a play completely in Spanish and make a presentation on it.  It was really fun working with Josh, Nicole, and Kelvin on it.  What sucks is that we got really creative and made our play really entertaining - but I guess we were too creative and our professor tore us up over how we changed it.  The play was the last assignment we had for that class and for the other three group memebers, that meant they would never again take any more Spanish classes - two finished their minors and one will graduate - so to celebrate we all went out drinking Thursday night at Bogarts.

Last night was fun too.  Some freinds all got together @ Liguya's apt. and everyone brought a bottle of wine and we all sampled from each others and had a good time.  One guy that was there had a breathalizer and I kept on blowing 'hot' instead of getting a reading - yet it'd been like an hour since my last drink.  lol.  Yeah, I guess I was really toasty.

Traveling today was really good. We filled up for $1.97/gal.  The station across the street was $2.63/gal though...I hope that's not what prices are gonna do.  We went to dinner at a nice Italian pizza place.  They had some kick ass Tirimisu for dessert.  After that we picked up some breakfast for tomorrow at Au Bon Pain and then walked to the White House before heading back to the Inn.  Well, that's about all for now.  Adios.

5th yr. Anniv.

Geez, I was wrong.  The week before last wasn't hell week, this past week was.  Four major papers and a test all in three days.  Glad that's over.  I haven't had much of a life at all lately with all this school work and study abroad stuff.  I need a nice, long, relaxing weekend.  Unfortunately,

Tomorrow I've gotta go to Charlotte for a pre-departure meeting for Spain.  Today I met some of the other kiddies that are going on the trip over some lunch.  They seem pretty cool.  I got my passport back, and all my medical stuff done, so now all I have left - I think - is to get my visa and then i'll be set to go to Spain.  The medical stuff wasn't fun.  I got 4 shots this week

so today's 11/11.  That marks my 5th year anniversery of coming out for the first time (to my dad.)  woot.
